Talon‘s Window‘s-based Saber GUI allows access to the entire range of configuration variables (range, dimming response, temperature limits, blocked fan controls, light guide port sensor, etc.).
Calibration and recalibration is simple using Talon‘s XXX GUI designed to automate the calibration process. Data on the device is stored securely in the cloud so modifying Talon‘s configuration (limits, response curves, etc) can occur at any time without the need to collect any raw data associated with Talon‘s irradiance.
Fully automated systems often benefit from a simple serial command structure where the automated system can rapidly and efficiently send commands to a peripheral device, such as the illumination device, coordinated with cameras, stages, and the like. Talon has a full complement of serial commands that it will respond to.
Light Emitting Diodes require increasing amount of electrical current to generate equal increases in irradiance. This relationship between electrical current and irradiance is fully described by a quadratic (2nd order) polynomial function.
The relationship between electrical current and irradiance is measured and stored to the cloud during manufacturing. With this information a set of values (linear coefficients) can be determined and loaded into Talon at any time. These values set the upper and lower limits for the irradiance and the slope of the curve across the range. This simple system ensures that, for each channel, an X% shift in the commanded dimming will result in a corresponding X% shift in the irradiance.
Talon has ~ 3500 unique dimming steps between the limits established during calibration providing exceptionally fine radiometric control.
Talon‘s unique LandingPad (Flight Control?) module enables full manual control - no computer required for full operation.
Micro-Manager is a comprehensive platform for controlling various hardware components in a microscopy setting. Typical hardware devices include lighting, stages, cameras, filter devices, and the like. Micro-Manager offers imaging acquisition and analysis tools and is widely used in research laboratories and academic institutions to its flexibility and active community support.
