**SUPERFINE RESOLUTION**
10 Bit electronics combined with a proprietary calibration method ensure that each dimming step creates a meaningful and precise change in optical power (increments of less than a millivolt are achievable - this can be as small as 0.5 lumens optical power).
**STABILITY**
HelioLux (unlike most units on the market) does not dim using pulse width modulation but instead provides a stable DC supply to the LED (think of the LED as being powered from a laboratory power supply).
The benefit is that the light delivered is extremely stable, even over very short periods of time.
This is essential for high speed photography, most semiconductor imaging, and a range of other applications. achieving new limits of power and optical collection efficiency
**OPTICAL EFFICIENCY**
At the core of any illuminator is its method of collecting the light generated by the LED and pumping it into the light-conducting cable - whether a fiber cable or liquid light guide. HelioLux uses non-imaging optical techniques to achieve superior efficiency in this area.

The latest DC to DC integrated components are deployed to provide up to 30 amps / 108 watts of power - allowing for the use of a range of high power LEDs.

**INTERNAL MONITORING**
HelioLux monitors its own health. Blocked fan - check. Cable disconnected - check. LED or PCBA too hot - check.
These and other checks are constantly occurring in the background so that any issues that could create problems within a system are immediately flagged and identified.
Faults, as well as total run time, are captured in memory to aid troubleshooting.
**REMOTE CONTROL**
A 9 pin connector on the rear panel provides for two methods of remote control.
For basic remoting of the front panel this connector provides direct access to the dimming and standby controls.
For computer control, this connector can be cabled to the USB port on a computer and serial commands and scripts can be written.

The heart of the HelioLux is an ultra-low-power 16-bit microcontroller running firmware within a Real Time Operating System (RTOS) environment with high performance ADC conversion performing vital tasks. This structure allows for straightforward customization to specific OEM requirements.
**CONFIGURABLE OPTICS**
Each HelioLux is delivered with a light engine optimized to work best with your specific fiber diameter and numerical aperture (beam angle). Using powerful tools, such as Zemax, we quickly optimize the optics to your application and fabricate the components required in our factory.
**CONFIGURABLE DIMMING**
HelioLux comes pre-loaded with firmware that allows the user to select how they want the dimming to work. Select between equal changes in voltage, equal changes in current, equal changes in power, or an innovative phototropic response curve that provides equal changes in how humans will perceive the light.
**AVAILABLE AS POLE MOUNT**
HelioLux is available in a pole-mounted configuration for medical and other customers.
